A few of our mics...
Electro Voice RE-20
Industry Standard broadcast mic -- we think it sounds really smooth on a bass amp.
Sennheiser MD441
The MD441 is an excellent supercardioid mic with a five-position low frequency contour switch, a two-position high frequency switch, a critically dampened internal shock suspension, and a hum bucking coil. we use it a lot on guitar amps for really clean sound. it's also an excellent vocal mic.
Audix d6
Not really sure why we put this one on here, but it looks cool.. this is a standard floor tom mic.
MD421 II
A large diaphragm, dynamic mic that handles high sound pressure levels. we use it a lot on distorted guitars and it's an industry standard for rack toms.
Beyerdynamic M160 Hypercardioid Double Ribbon Microphone
This ribbon mic is great on acoustic intruments like guitar, banjo, mandolin, and anything picked or finger picked. It also sounds great on brass instruments.
Neumann M 147 Tube
Vacuum tube condenser microphone with a cardioid pattern. At the heart of this microphone is the K 47 dual diaphragm capsule, inherited from this model's now legendary predecessors, the U 47 and the M 49. We use this on a lot of lead vocal tracks, as well as acoustic bass, cello and as a room mic.
Neumann TLM 103
It has the K 103 large diaphragm capsule which is based on the K 87, well known from the U 67 / U 87 mics. The capsule has a flat frequency response up to about 5 kHz, and above that, a wide flat 4 dB presence boost. it's great as a room mic.
Groove Tubes GT44 Matched pair
A true condensor .75-inch medium sized capsule with a thin 6-micron Gold evaporated diaphragm in a top firing desing. These used to be our drum overheads, but we replaced them with the josephesons. since then they've proven to be awesome. We use them on all acoustic instruments - guitar, violin, trumpet, saxophone, and as a room mic.
Oktava MK-012
an omni. we usually use this in a room setting.
Shure KSM137
Awesome acoustic mic. we've used it successfully on piano, drums, hand percussion and stringed instruments.
Shure SM7B
This thing is used as a broadcast and voice-over mic in a lot of studios. it's also an amazing vocal mic for some singers.
Josephson c42 Matched Pair
This stereo pair makes the drums come to life in a recording.
